...and they live like us

"If they can be like us, wouled they give everything just to have one day ion our shoes? and with that, what would they do?"

A very timely question for all the our public officials who are thinking of running for presidency. what exactly they would do if they were stripped off all they have and live, even for a day, as an ordinary Filipino?

I got the question from the song of 3 doors down, "Be like that", revised it a little. But apparently it poses a good challenge to those who were to run for the upcoming election. How would they live a more simple life as an employee, a nurse, a student, a PUV driver or a fast-food crew?

Can they last a day with only a hundred pesos in their pocket? Will they dare to ride the MRT during rush hour just to save a couple of coins, fit theirselves to a sardine like train? will they dine in a turo-turo or buy a value-meal from the food carts, which i must say taste really good and satisfy your hunger.

I wonder how chiz Escudero will look if he was standing in a moving bus or Bayani Fernando will cross a street going to his work. Will Loren Legarda accept a hotdog on a bun lunch wrapped in brown paper? Can Mar Roxas walk from Edsa Shrine to Edsa Shangri-La since it was close enough to ride a jeepney? How will Binay will look if he had to sweep the street in a hot noon?

These are a couple of possiblities which they are likely to experience if they were to live a a regular Filipino, "a commoner" as some may call it. But the interesting part is will they do it? and if they will, how long will they last?

This may be a good dare for this people. If they really what know all about the country they are about to lead, they have to know first-hand how this nation manage to cope up with all the problems from the poorest of the poor and every class of the society.

They might probably find a new and simple ideas how to deal with the current problems of the Philippines. n_n
